Lake Eufaula State Park

Stretching across 2,853 acres in McIntosh County, Lake Eufaula State Park sits along the shores of Lake Eufaula — Oklahoma’s largest lake by surface area, covering over 100,000 acres of water. Established in 1963, the park has served as a gateway to some of the best fishing and water recreation in the state for over six decades.

The lake itself is the main draw. Anglers come for largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and striped bass, with productive fishing year-round. Boating, swimming, and water skiing keep the lake busy through the warmer months, while the park’s wooded shoreline trails offer quieter options for hiking and wildlife watching. The surrounding Cross Timbers ecosystem — a mix of post oak, blackjack oak, and tallgrass prairie — supports white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and a healthy population of bald eagles, especially visible during winter.

Spring and fall deliver the most comfortable weather for exploring, with mild temperatures and fewer crowds than the peak summer season.
